Everybody! Put your hands up! - A "Death Parade" Slight Review

So, well, three days ago, I finished watching "Death Parade"; an anime. I'll tell you my slight review.

(Doc. Amazon.com)

I watched the first episode long time ago. Well, not that long, but yeah. Then I watched the rest three days ago. My first impression was, it's good for me, but not really my taste. But NO, I was wrong! After I watched the second episode, I like it! Thanks to the beautiful opening soundtrack, I guess.

The main characters of this anime is Decim; the bartender and also an arbiter, and Chiyuki; the only "person" who remember that she supposed to be dead.

Well, let me officially start the slight review. Welcome to Quindecim! A place where you will be judged before going to heaven or hell. Decim as the arbiter (and the other arbiters on the other bars too) will be the one to judge you to reincarnate or not. Or maybe this explanation is wrong? I think it's not "before going to heaven or hell", but rather as another chance. Perish or reincarnate. I'm not really paying attention to Decim's explanation, ahaha.

Imagine if you have a chance to live again, but as another person. In another word, reincarnation. You're not going to heaven nor hell. But you have to win a game, chosen by a roulette. Because there might be chance that you don't want to play the game, the staffs of this place (not Decim, but the other staffs) will erase your memory. If you're a gamer, this chance is for ya, hahaha!

I just realised that this anime's genre is psychological thriller. Psychology plus thriller? No wonder I like it better than any thriller anime. Seriously, I'm not a fan of thriller, but I don't hate it too. I can stand blood, gore, dead body, murders, and suchlike, but thriller isn't my best option. But this anime, it's also psychological, so I like it. Psychology is one of the best genre I love very much.

Like I said before, the opening soundtrack of this anime is the one who lured me back to watch it. I can see myself dancing along the song! But not right now, ahahaha. You know, I was blushing all the time when the song was playing. I don't know why. I thought it was because of Decim or Chiyuki, but no, it's because of the song.

I don't really have anything to say about the story. I like it, it's kinda refreshing for me. I just think this anime need at least one more episode, so we can see another of Decim's facial expression progress (LOL) and of course, more of Chiyuki's emotion. I need to know how on earth Decim can still be an arbiter, when he can't have any emotion. Are with me or not?

I'm not sure why but I know I love the emotions here. I'm not usually fond of emotions, but this anime is gold with its emotion.

My favourite character? I'm not sure, ok? I don't know, hahaha.

Chiyuki and Ginti's personality are different from my expectation. I thought Chiyuki will be a cheerful person, but no. She's average. As for Ginti, from the opening only, I thought he's a very quite person, like... Mori senpai from Ouran High School Host Club, I think (yeah, I watched OHSHC, but only for some episode because I can't stand it). But heck no, he's arrogant and talked a lot.

One thing for sure, I don't like the ending. Just... like that? Decim make a wooden doll that resemblance Chiyuki? That's it? I was also a little bit angry at myself for not seeing it coming.

Well yeah, enjoy your drink and ganbatte for winning the game. Let's meet again after your reincarnation, shall we?
